Sport Psychologist and Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychological Sciences, University of Melbourne.
How can we better support mental health within competitive high pressure environments?
This question drives my work. My research and practice sits at the intersection of clinical and sport psychology, exploring mental health within elite sport, youth sport, and the performing arts. My work has been applied among a wide range of populations including athletes, coaches, sports officials, academics, dancers, and musicians.
My research has focused on many topics including self-compassion and self-criticism, body image, gender, and the broader role of organisational and interpersonal systems. I’m passionate about helping create high-performance environments that are effective but also safe and supportive. Along the way, I’ve published close to 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and reports for industry on these topics.
